Guest Posting Today and I Remembered!

Today I was asked to guest post over at Heather’s blog for her weekly column “Ministry Wife Monday” and I remembered!! (vs last week when I went skiing and forgot. Oops!)

One of the most important issues facing women in the church today is the issue of being a peacemaking women vs. troublemaking women. One type of woman is walking worthy of the Lord, and the other…well…you can read it for yourself. Go ahead. I’ll wait and then you can come right back here to discuss it further. here

When we disagree, we need still need to be Spirit led which is where most people go wrong.

They assume that when there is disagreement, then they have the RIGHT to act in sinful ways.

The other extreme is to try to keep peace at all costs. That is why we are told to speak the truth in love when we need to.

Peacemaking women not only promote unity and peace through their Christlike behavior( gentleness, meekness, humility, longsuffering) but they are magnets for other Christian women who want a safe place to find friendship and receive counsel. They speak the truth in love and the person hearing knows that they do love them.

Trouble making women are harsh with their words, always have a critical comment about something or someone, and live a life of broken relationships and unresolved conflict, assume the worst about other women. The natural response is that women keep these “ladies” at an arms length distance. It is safer that way. These women in ministry loose out on their ability to minister to others.

What about you? What draws you or repels you from confiding in women in the church? Have you noticed that some women exhibit the “peaceable fruit of righteousness” and seem to be the ones that are safe places for other women?

**As with all blogs and guest posts,  when I am asked to guest post, I have not read the entire content of all blogs that I link to, nor should that be considered a blanket endorsement of the whole site. I may/may not agree 100% with them (and I am sure the same is true of them with me.)  Please use discernment whenever you read around the web. I know you already know that, being the smart readers that you are. 😉
