Blessed with Rest
Destination: Vermont. Purpose: Rest.

This past week we enjoyed a family vacation at my parents cabin in Vermont. Our “to do” list for the week included reading, resting, playing games, ice skating, site seeing, shopping and family time. I don’t think we realized how much we really needed the rest. Life gets so busy when you are in “go” mode and it can be hard to “slow.” Never mind to stop. 🙂
Peter led the family in devotions morning and evening, and we learned about some of the attributes of God. His patience, loyalty and our duty to glorify Him. We stoked the antique wood stove and I felt very “Anne of Green Gable-ish” cooking over the fire.
Rest is a good opportunity for refocusing your heart on God and re-evaluating your goals.
Thanks, Mom and Dad. We were thankful for the rest.
