Ode to Camp
This year, our kids were able to attend the Wilds of New England summer camp. As a mother, I am so thankful for the opportunity for them to go to TWNE and get a solid week of great Bible teaching and counseling. Rebekah told me it was the best week of her life. I love the heart of the Wilds workers. They are there to serve other people and to bring glory to God in the process.

Here is a brief example. Rebekah made some great decisions during her week and ended up talking to one of the kitchen staff workers. This “woman” (found out later she was only 19) actually spent extra time with Rebekah and bought Rebekah a book in the gift shop that she thought would be helpful and encouraging to her. She spent her money on my daughter. I know that working at the Wilds is a ministry and that they are not paid much, so that made the gesture that much more meaningful. Ministry that doesn’t cost you anything isn’t really worth anything. I am so thankful to this unknown kitchen worker who loved the Lord so much that she used her resources to encourage my little girl at camp. I am praying that God rewards her for her act of love.
