Physical and Spiritual Healing: Out of the Mouth of Babes.

My son, Matthew, is studying the Easter story for our church’s Preaching Exposition.  This is an event where boys can study a passage and are given a time to preach to the congregation what they have learned.

He recently asked me if I had ever thought about the fact that every time someone  looked at a person Jesus had healed, they would always and forever after think about Jesus. Imagine the soldier whose ear Peter cut off…and Jesus picked it up and re-attached it with a touch. Every time you saw that soldier, you would think “Ear cut off…and healed…by Jesus.” Or the man born blind, who was known his whole life as blind…until Jesus healed him. You could never forget that it was because of Jesus.

I wonder if people look at my  life, and think about the fact that before Jesus healed me spiritually, I was a mess. But when grace entered and Jesus saved me from sin, self, unbelief, and my hatred of God, people knew that something was totally different. I was healed spiritually. Because of the grace of Jesus Christ.

Do people look at your life and see that Jesus has been there? That he has worked His miracles in your life? Does your life reflect the grace and beauty of the Savior?

Thanks, Matthew, for making this little truth a whole lot clearer to me.
