What’s Been Keeping Me Busy (Family Pics)
Things have been quiet on the blog because we have been super busy around here–busy in a good way. Busy with my family.
I am LOVING having all five kids home under one roof. Β π
So,so thankful for the time I have with each of them!
Here are some snapshots of what we’ve been up to this summer. I do have pangs of guilt that I should be getting ready for the homeschool year to start! BUT, I am not going to think about that now (Scarlett O’Hara)… I am going to do that after Rebekah leaves for college again. π
Incase you didn’t know: THAT is WHY they invented 2 day shipping, right? lol

I have been pondering these quotes:
βOur worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.β Jerry Bridges
βToo often, we say we are defeated by this or that sin. No, we are not defeated. We are simply disobedient. It might be good if we stop using the terms victory and defeat to describe our progress in holiness. Rather, we should use the terms obedience and disobedience. When I say I am defeated by some sin, I am unconsciously slipping out from under my responsibility. I am saying something outside of me has defeated me. But when I say I am disobedient, that places the responsibility for my sin squarely on me. We may in fact be defeated, but the reason we are defeated is because we have chosen to disobey.
We need to brace ourselves up and to realize that we are responsible for thoughts, attitudes, and actions. We need to reckon on the fact that we died to sin’s reign, that it no longer has any dominion over us, that God has united us with the risen Christ in all His power and has given us the Holy Spirit to work in us. Only as we accept our responsibility and appropriate God’s provisions will we make any progress in our pursuit of holiness.β Jerry Bridges
What are you reading this summer? Pondering? I hope you enjoy your week!
Are you back !?! π
I am! π
I haven’t ordered my books yet, either. Or even figured out what I need. We are gone until the 16th. That gets me home 2-1/2 weeks before school starts. Plenty of time….=)
I am in good company then. Haha
LOVE seeing all these fun photos of you and the crew!
And those Jerry Bridges quotes are excellent…especially where he talks about how our word choice affects how we view our responsibility…so so good (and true).
Which book is that from?
The Pursuit of Holiness…an excellent, convicting read. π
