SUMMER. Finally!
It is a BEAUTIFUL day here and I am sooo looking forward to our three day weekend! I am purchasing some books this weekend that I’m so excited about reading. One is “When Good Kids Make Bad Choices” by Elyse Fitzpatrick. I read the first chapter on Amazon yesterday and I can already tell that it is a MUST read for someone is youth ministry.
This Memorial Day, three of our girls are playing their violins for the celebration in Halifax center. It was so moving last year to have them be a part of such a neat and solemn celebration. The veterans in town sent them such a wonderful thank you letter, and Rebekah just kinda looked at me and said “Well, it is the least that we could do…after they all went to war to protect us.” EXACTLY! 🙂
This week was the first week of summer vacation. We managed to go to the beach, the kids went boating, used the sprinkler, ate lots of popsicles (especially with my sore throat), had long talks on the phone with out of state friends, took senior pictures for two of my friends’ kids, and had people over a few nights for late night chats. I LOVE SUMMER. 🙂
