Some News and a New Years Update

Some news:

Kristy from Natural Little Cottage asked me to share some thoughts about practicing hospitality while you have young children in the home and limited resources. I shared a little secret with you that will go no farther than the four walls of this room. Okay? 🙂 You can read “Hospitality Hints for Young Mothers”  here

I was asked to be a monthly contributer over at Natural Little Cottage, and as my readers know, I am just WAY too random to commit to anything extra on a monthly basis. ha,ha,ha {ahem!}  So I will be contributing sorta monthly/bi monthly/as I can over at Kristy’s site.  It is just the season of life that I am in and some day when my kids are gone and I am all alone with my rocking chair  and quiet walls, I will contribute to my hearts content. I need to balance my life according to my priorities, which I just wrote about here: Balancing Ministry and Motherhood.

I haven’t really posted about my New Years goals here. I have done a lot of thinking about what I want my life to look like when I come to the end of it, and if you missed those posts, you can read them here. The first is called “What do you want engraved on your tombstone.” 🙂

Some of the things I am working on in 2012:

1. The Navigators Topical Bible Memory program with my kids. here I am so thankful for all of the scripture I memorized as a child, and I want to give my kids that same benefit.

2. I am doing a Bible Study with one of my friends and we decided to study the book of Ephesians together. Soo, I was thrilled to find that Good Morning Girls has the free downloadable S.O.A.P method for mediating on the book of Ephesians here! I have found this method to be so helpful and I will use this for my own quiet times.

3. Finish the school year well and to include field trips.

4. I have a list of books that I want to read as well. What are you reading?

5. Raise money for a cause very near to my heart, which I will tell you all about in another post. But I will give you a hint: it includes my daughter being gone allllll summer long. 😉

  • I’ll also be doing the Ephesians study and am really excited to get started! My other new year’s goal is to read through the Bible in a year. I’ve been a Christian for 10 years and have done tons of Bible studies but have never read it all the way through so my husband and I are doing this one challenge together 🙂

Thanks for the tip on the Navigators memory program and also for the great post about hospitality hints. I am going to print that one out so I can be reminded of it daily! I have a young girl in mind who is a teen mom and have struggled with trying to meet up with her so I will take the step and invite her over! Thank you again for being an encouraging Titus 2 woman across the web! 😉
