“Here lies an atheist, All dressed up and, No place to go.” {and other Epitaphs You Don’t Want On Your Tombstone}
This week we are talking about how we want to be remembered after we die and are making changes today to help us live the life we want to be remembered for. Incase you missed parts one and two, go ahead and catch up and we will wait for you right here.

Another thing I want to be remembered for is not only my love for people, but my love for God. I want to be remembered as someone who loved Him and lived as he taught in the Bible.
The FIRST and Great Commandment:
AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.
BUT–You may say, I believe in God, but I don’t really think that God is relevant in my day to day life. He kinda made thing and then left us to fend for ourself. Or you may think that all roads lead to God and that there are many different ways to get to heaven. Or you may not believe in God at all.
Can I just encourage you to think “What if?”
- What if God is relevant in my life?
- What if there is only one way to God?
- What if God does care about how I live?
- What if I have broken one of God’s 10 Commandments?
- What if I ignore his Son?
- What if He really does punish sin?
- What if there really is a hell?
If you don’t know how you stand with God, or if you are not sure that when you die you will go to heaven, read this or feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

But, as a woman who follows the teachings of Christ, and has received His grace for my sin, I want to be a woman who loves God with my whole heart, and walks uprightly! But I have to be honest, every day I stumble.
I am not going to blame it on Satan, or on other people’s behavior, because God’s word puts the responsibility of my own sin on ME- on my choices.
But, one secret that I have learned is that the voice I listen to most is who I will believe.
So, I have to choose to believe God and his word, or Satan and this world’s lies.
Satan whispers...
- God doesn’t love you….he withheld__________ from you.
- Your sin really doesn’t have consequences….you will not surely die.
- You need to fight for your rights, because nobody is looking out for you…
- Money and things are what make you happy.
- Live it up today. This life is all there is….
- Holiness will bring you misery. You don’t want to be like the prudish, unhappy Christian over there.
What hopeless thoughts, huh?
God’s Word teaches…
- God is love and is FOR you. He has a rescue plan in motion to save you from sins penalty.
- Sin will destroy you and take over your life like a cancer. God can break the bondage that sin has over your life.
- God has a plan for you and is guarding your steps.
- Things will never satisfy. {Are you more satisfied just days after Christmas?} God will fill the void in our heart.
- Today is NOT the all that there is. Today is just a preparation for an eternity with God in a perfect world.
- Holiness and obedience to God’s word will bring me happiness and satisfaction.
So, what can I do today to help me live my life in a state of adoration, wonder and appreciation for God Almighty?
Get to know God by spending time in His Word. Period.
Not just to read or fill in some mental checklist: Bed made. Check. Devotions done. Check.
But READ TO KNOW HIM and what He loves and what He hates.
I have this line from a hymn jotted down in my Bible:
Beyond the sacred page I seek Thee, Lord;
My spirit pants for Thee, O living Word!
Then, after you’ve spent time seeking His will for your day, go through your day with an awareness that He is there with you!
You are not alone. He is near.
He IS involved. He IS in control. Your life is NOT random. He DOES love you.
And You DO want to be remembered as a woman who loved God!
