Joy in Painting

I am so thankful for the opportunity to take a weekly watercolor class given by the Duxbury Art Association. We go out on location to some of the most beautiful spots in Duxbury and paint in the sunshine. It is wonderful to get to paint weekly and to learn from some very experienced watercolor artists! I have enjoyed painting since I was a child and have always loved and studied storybook illustrators. Some of my favorite illustrators are Renee Graef, Helen Oxenbury, Beatrix Potter,Tasha Tudor. I love their simple, innocent style. Of course, there are may artists to admire, but there is something alluring about the thought of painting for a child’s book.  Peter not only encourages me to paint, but also watches the kids so I can take part in this class!
