Key Lime Cheese Ball {Just like Tastefully Simple’s}
My sister brought a delicious Tastefully Simple Key Lime Cheeseball to my house for our Mother’s Day celebration.
It was so delish. Did I mention that already? Okay then.

Of course, we really don’t want to have to buy the mix if you can do it yourself. What self-respecting Yankee would?
So, tonight I humbly submit to you, this copycat recipe. 🙂
Key Lime Cheeseball
1 box (7.5 oz) Dr. Oetker Key Lime Pie Filling Dessert Mix (got mine at the grocery store, but many of you have asked to see exactly what it looked like, hence the Amazon link. ;))
2 bricks softened cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
1 cup powdered sugar
Mix until blended will. Pop in the fridge until firm. Roll into crushed graham crackers to form a ball.
Serve with Nilla Wafers or Graham Crackers.
Enjoy!
Made this. It was excellent. I think it might taste better than the TS version actually. As a note it gives you enough to make two balls if you’d want – (one to take to a party and one for home ;)).
I’m so glad you liked it. I loved TS’s version, too, and was sad they discontinued it.
Thank you for this recipe!! I’m broken hearted that tastefully simple no longer sells the key lime cheese ball mix. Very excited to try this recipe!
I loved TS’s too! Hope you enjoy this recipe!
I make one for a Halloween party and by the Scooby graham cracker snacks there shaded like bones
Yum. Cute idea!
Do you follow the instructions on the key-lime pie mix or dump the mix with the other ingredients?
Oh, no… you just dump it in. 🙂
My friends had the Tastefully Simple brand of this ball at their Christmas party last weekend so, as soon as I got home I Googled it and found your recipe. I ordered the recommended mix from Amazon and made it for my partner’s employee Christmas party. It was a huge success. We served it with the Teddy Bear graham crackers. Thank you for such a wonderful dessert.
Oh, I’m so glad you liked it, Kay! I love trying to figure out these recipes because I hate spending big money for them. :)Enjoy!!
The Tastefully Simple one uses one 8 oz pkg cream cheese. When you say 2 bricks do you mean 3 oz or 8 oz?
two 8 oz packages
How long did it take to firm up in the refrigerator?? I have to make this with the ts almond pound cake!
I would say about 2 hours. 🙂
You can also use Southern Gourmet Outrageous Key Lime Pie Filling Mix. It is in a box at Walmart above the canned fruit pie filling.
Can’t wait to try this! I had purchased a key lime cheese ball dip mix at the Biltmore while camping in SC. I served it as a campfire snack with animal crackers & it was a hit! Thank You 🙂
Oh, you’ll love this!
It sounds WONDERFUL! I can’t wait to make it. I loved the tastefully simple version so I’m excited to have this at the next family gathering.
Hope you love it, Rosemary! We do!
What pie filling do you use? I click on the link & it just brings me to Google.
It was called Dr. Oetker from the makers of Shirriff. I found mine in Walmart.
Do you know of any other places to get key lime pudding/pie filling? My Walmart didn’t have it.
Boy, I am not sure. Perhaps Stop and Shop?
Love this! Thanks for posting. (I pinned it too.) 🙂
So glad you liked it. And thanks for pinning it! 🙂
