Commit Your Day To God
My childhood pastor taught me an important lesson.
He would say, “Commit your day to God. Surrender it.”
Verbally say it. Pray it.
Commit your goals and dreams, your moments, your children, your husband and your desires to Him.
Commit all that you have and are to Him.
Surrender it all. Give it up.
It looks like this:
“God, my life is yours today. You control all things and I want you to control me. Move me. Mold me in your ways.
Let my life bring YOU glory and honor.
Let my words, my actions, my motives, my desires—-> be Yours.
I bow my life. Use me.”
This simple prayer of dedication helps me to realize my place in this world. I tend to make big of myself, so I need a daily reminder that He must increase and I must be made small.
Thank you for this reminder. I have been meditating on this and using this with our homeschool this week.
Such a great thing to meditate on. God is in control of it all.
Thank you for reminding us of the importance of laying our day at the Lord’s feet. Time moves so swiftly sometimes its easy to forget why we’re even here in the first place…all because of HIM! Great Post!
Yes, we do forget so easily. I understand that. But he knows that we are but dust. Thanks for your encouragement.
This was such a great reminder for me today especially since we’re having some car troubles that are putting us at a crossroad! I know God already knew this was coming and He is trustworthy so I’m committing it all to Him. This reminds me of a message I listened to yesterday from Nancy Leigh DeMoss that was SO good: http://www.reviveourhearts.com/radio/revive-our-hearts/god-centered-life/
She is sooo good. One of my favorite women Bible teachers, along with Kay Arthur and Elizabeth George.
