Keeping Traditions {by making Christmas tags}

This week we made homemade Christmas tags. We have done this every year for YEARS, but this year, there was ONE BIG PROBLEM!

See this girl? The one in red in the middle?

Well, that is my Rebekah. And she is a student at Bob Jones University. Why is that a problem? Well, she wasn’t here to make them. sniff, sniff.

So, after my tears, we started in crafting.

We stamped cream cardstock with permanent ink, and then colored them with watercolor or Prismacolors. Then we mount them on colorful cardstock. Here are some photos:

Looks like an explosion of paper snippets!

We also made a few seaonal displays.

A dear friend sent me little bundle of rosehips in the mail as a thank you for sending her cranberries. I put them by my kitchen sink where I can see them, in front of this old Johnson Brothers platter that I found recently at a thrift shop! I also added an old canning jar filled water, snips of boxwood, cranberries and a floating candle. I spend a lot of time at my kitchen sink, so I want it to be a pretty area.

Love these in old canning jars. Just the right size for a window sill.

Same thing, larger scale. Easy and inexpensive. The cranberries keep the boxwood and candles in place. You could also make varying sizes and group them for a holiday centerpiece.

And here are my plans for today:

Have a great weekend!
